Abbie creates intricate embroidery by hand, on one of a kind and limited edition pieces for private clients, collaborating with stylists, boutiques and brands, working with luxury designers across all fields; fashion, events, bridal and lingerie.

Since 2009

Working from her studio in Faversham, Kent, Abbie creates beautifully designed embroidery on accessories, clothing, intimates and table linens. Collaborating with tattoo artist Heather Moore, using original tattoo artwork to hand embellish decorative designs. Elements of vintage and antique materials are used, elevating the design, all other materials are sensibly sourced, making each piece all the more exclusive.

Clients and Collaborators include; Koibird, Fiona Leahy Design, LoveShackFancy, Over The MoonFaline Toyko, O’Pioneers, Alice Wilkes Design, Halfpenny London and Anthropologie.

Background

Abbie Walsh is based in Faversham, Kent, UK, where she works from her studio. Having graduated in 1998 with a BTEC NDD in Fashion from Rochester KIAD art college, went on to gain a BA Hons degree in Costume Production at Rose Bruford Theatre College, graduating in 2001. Since then working freelance in costume on over 50 productions, including Westend musicals, plays, operas, film and Television, toured the U.K. and USA.

Alongside her work in costume, Abbie strengthened her love for vintage by working at the renowned Vintage Store ‘Steinberg & Tolkien’ on Kings Road, London on days off from theatre.

During this time Abbie also worked for clothing label ‘One Vintage’ as a seamstress reworking and restoring beautiful one of a kind clothing using antique textiles.

Since gaining experience across these fields, bringing together all her knowledge and skills, 2009 saw Abbie Walsh launch as a freelance designer and has worked continuously, specialising in hand embroidery.
